The Scorpions are the good all round M+S tyres, while the Verde's were the "green" (Verde - "green", geddit?), low rolling resistance tyres, with compromised grip. Later on they did the M+S version of of the "Green" tyre, which is what you can buy now.

I put Vredstein Wintrack Extremes on last February, and now approaching two years use and 23,000 miles they still have 6mm depth.

So... My current Pirellis are 255/50/20 If I buy Pirelli Verdi the sizes seem to be 255/55/20. I understand that the speedo would be a couple of mph out if changing from 50 to 55. Could that invalidate the insurance or cause any other issues that you all can think of? Thanks. |

Lots of people on here have made the switch - the 55 size seems to be quite a bit cheaper and apparently rides better too.

So, thanks to your advice, I plumped for the Pirelli Scorpion Verde; and bagged an unexpected bargain at the same time:

What about the General AT in 255/55x20, good tyres.
