You dont have to cut the flaps off if you go for the standard cross bars though. And if you use the genuine LR bars you can be assures they wont damage the car and they will be up to the job.

The cross bars can be picked up on ebay from Ģ40-Ģ80

I'd have the safety devices one tomorrow if my pocket money would support it, and it would be used often when touring. I have a full rack on the 110 and its worth its weight in gold.

Only down side as far as I'm concerned is the loss of a little more clearance which means even fewer carparks to chose from.

The consumption issue is negligable given the car and its cost. 2010 Disco XS TDV6, 2009 Freelander 2 GS
