Chain tensioner noise...

I had the chain tensioner update kit installed a year ago and it still makes a rattling sound that has actually gotten louder in the past few days. Car goes to dealer next Friday. Have there been any new developments regarding this issue? It sounds like a diesel. Thx! Mike

What year and engine? Your 11 sc? Man i hate to hear that. The 5.0 has so much potential but sounds troubling. can you post a video? OffRoadRover.com An American Western Range Rover Off Road Blog

Its a 2011 5.0 and has been making the rattling since I bought it. I had the chain tensioner update kit installed few months after I bought it in 2014 under warranty and then the pulleys aligned as they were apparently off but it still sounds like a diesel.
It is now out of warranty but I have been on the dealer about it and it goes in to shop for service next friday. Dealer is 2.5 hours away so the car doesn't go down very often.

Got it back from service, oil change etc. and the noise has been very quiet which makes me wonder, if the engine was low on oil (I have never gotten a warning light saying it was low) would the tappets or lifters be noisier? I know the 5.0 takes quite a bit of oil so if there was a slight reduction in oil, would the noise be more prevalent??

Thicker oil tends to reduce engine noise, maybe newer oil not broken down so much is thicker, could maybe be temperature related too? Only Range Rovers since 1988
