Headlight Igniter/ballast code

Hi. Ive got the intermittent non starting off side headlight fault (its not the bulb) and having read the procedure for sorting it I am raring to get started. I have a 2003 td6 Vogue and can anyone tell me the part code(s) for the igniter/ballast unit?
Cheers. QUID FACIUM TIBI

you can get the part number off microcat [link in wiki] or i'd be tempted to buy a whole unit off ebay and use that or its parts.. ... - .- -.

Thanks for this - can anyone tell me if it is the ballast or igniter that is more likely to be the problem. I only have it when turning the light on - once it is on it stays on (until you turn it off of course)..... QUID FACIUM TIBI

sounds like the igniter to me(the black box with the two wires going to the bulb inside the headlamp unit)

mines a bit like that.you put the lights on it works for a while then you get "CHECK DIP BEAM LIGHT" turn the lights off and on again its okay for a while and goes out again. it does this a few times and sometimes it ts okay. could this be the ballast or the igniter, or something else? gone fishin'

the igniter starts the light (black box inside the headlamp unit) Thumbs Up
the ballast keeps the light on(silver box screwed to outside of headlamp unit) Thumbs Up

so your problem is the ballast

dont use cheep bulbs they scrap the ballast Big Cry
