Yep, that's a top hose from a BMW car, FF's don't have that and no water goes to the airbox.... Pete

Thanks guys. Think I need to dig a bit deeper. I wonder if my gearbox cooler thermostat has been by passed for some reason ? Might explain why gearbox went into cooling strategy after 20 mins in heavy traffic yesterday. Looks like may be the previous owner spent thousands on looks but not the esssentials.

All else is in place as it should be, so it looks like the wrong hose has been fitted for whatever reason. Ill get a proper one on order along with a transmission cooler. Shame I cant do anything about the cone air filter - unless anyone knows better ? No7 - 2003 V8 Vogue |

Chances are the main engine rad is silted up, not just the oil cooler, fit a new cooler with a blocked rad (which is a very common issue) and you will ruin the new cooler...

Noted your coment Haylands and have ordered a rad and an 80deg stat as well. I ran one of these in my X5 and made quite a difference to the smoothness. No7 - 2003 V8 Vogue |
