L322 headlight failure

Hi
Have an 03 l322
A few months ago I had intermittent illumination on the near side dipped beam, I found that turning the lights on and off a few times would eventually get it to work.
The fault then seemed to disappear.
Now it has reoccurred and will not work at all.
I presume it is the igniter due to the previous symptoms
Could anyone confirm this or is it worth me swapping the igniters to confirm this?

Same problem for me. Just messing around with the cables had a short term improvement when it went for the MOT. I have bought a 2nd igniter but not had chance to try it yet.

Swap over to confirm the fault. problem then comes with solving it economically.

Have just looked at the process of swapping them over and decided it's probably easier just to buy a new igniter and fit that.
Can anyone recommend a supplier or has a part number?

i think you might find its the ballast that fails rather than the ignitor.... ... - .- -.

If the ballast was to fail, has this ever been associated with a strange noise?
