Oh learned friends

I wonder if someone can help me out. I have two lights either side of my gates but I bought the wrong ones as they both have an independent air (so they come on/off not in sync)

Now I'm sure i've seen them before but I'd ideally like a sensor light that has a live or switch feed so that I can power the second when the first turns on.

Can anyone tell me what type of light i need to get..?

Ot shall I just go for a separate PIR sensor and wire it in line from the power.?

It depends how they are wired as to whether you can get to the switched live of the PIR - some lights let you tap into it, others don't...Where you wire the supply into, if there are 4 connections then you're in luck - otherwise separate PIR is the way to go.

I have some with a 4 way terminal block - Live, Earth, Neutral & switched live - so I could run additional lights by using the switched live (and earth & neutral) from the first one

I'll have to remove one to take a look - I ran all the cabling and wired them up when I did the gate posts and gates but I can't remember if they were 3 or 4 core

Worse case, I'll pull them out and use a single 4 core with feed to the three core (without)

Do you have a name for the lights as none of them seem to have the extra switch live listed.? Ash

Sorry - can't remember, but when I opened the back there was 4 way terminal block.

You should only need 3 core cable - the other side go the PIR you just use the switched rather than permanent live.
