Arm Rest Removal

I've asked this before but can't remember what the answer was. As you can see the armrest trim needs repositioning and sticking back in place, whilst not a big task it would be made possible/much easier if I could remove the armrest but I can't see how.

Can anyone help me out ?

 Geoff

Thanks Mick, I think it does, not that clear, but it looks like remove tension straps from underneath then two torx from under the lower seat back panel, remove that panel and then I can get at the allen nut holding the arm on. Then Roberts your mothers brother.

Hi all

From the workshop manual it does not show clearly how you get to the allen bolt for the armrest? Do you have to take off the seat backing to get to the allen bolt securing the armrest?

(picture in manual show backing still in place but there is no space to get to allen bolt)

Shocked Geoff, you'll need to remove the seat Shocked And heads up, they aren't that light Wink And then we are assuming that they go together the same as the BMW seats...... might be inclined to wait to hear from some one who's done this with the Ford seats..... they could go together differently Rolling Eyes Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Hold up...... that arm rest comes off first Rolling Eyes so the allen bolt must be get-at-able without seat removal, might need to jamb some fingers or something to get the clearance to remove the bolt...... Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

Seat out is a possibility but you might be able to undo the the seat and prop it up to get good enough access . I took the seats out when I replace the drivers back Peltier cell and regretted it so the next time when I changed my BPM I just reclined the back a bit so I could lift it higher and propped it up then disconnected the battery to stop any airbag faults and did the work . 2008 MY Supercharged
