Sat Nav woes

HI Gang

Quick question - I set my nav on the odd occasion if it's somewhere new I;m going to but.... an anyone tell me why it keeps suggesting I divert from a dual carriage way, down a slip road to roundabout, then go straight over, back on the on ramp and back onto the dual carriageway it just took me off..!!!

So bloody annoying if Its somewhere i don't know - I think I have to turn off only to find it taking back on again - It's not quicker and it can;t be shorter..!!

Any ideas? Ash

mine did that on my euro trip and i deducted that the diversion was automatically linked to the TMC..switched that off and all was ok.. ... - .- -.

cool - thx Stan

Obviously another LR "feature" then - I would have thought it better to enable TMC for when traffic is held up ahead.. Might be better to know about it before one hits the end of the queue.? Wink Ash

this is different to the normal TMC....this is linked to the auto diversion...didnt have it on the earlier FF's..

edit, from memory its in the nav menu under 'avoid tmc events' or similar which you have to un-tick.. ... - .- -.

Now you're confusing me Stan (i know it doesn't take much these days)

Are you saying I should turn OFF TMC or just turn off TMC Events..? Whats the difference.? Ash

when selected the TMC gives you traffic info on the screen, ie slow traffic etc....

the additional 'TMC events' is a feature which automatically re-routes [when you have a route is selected] using the TMC info...

two separate features Ash.. ... - .- -.
