Give in

Over in the States just now for a family holiday ,

Short version ....

Took the daughter to Disneyland for her 18th birthday , at the moment she is in the process of taking driving lessons in a manual car , wifey has told me to buy a new small car for her from a local dealership unseen and have it all sorted so that the car is sitting on our driveway for our return .....😳😳😳😳😳

Now I have tried telling her it's best to wait till we get home and that she passes her driving test so that she can test drive them ( but no wifey doesn't agree ) plus making transatlantic phone calls to insurance companies and dealerships plus the daughter might not like the interior or colour and if that happens guess who will get it in the neck .....

But no Wifey is adamant just to get one ....🙀🙀🙀🙀 Reason why I give in .... Anyone recommend a nice wee small car must be an Automatic and around no more than £13k 👍👍👍👍

Burst your A.rs.e arguing with the missus , anything for a quiet life ...😜😜😂 ====================================

"Open Mike Night " sounded like a lot of fun until i found out i was going to an Autopsy

Skoda fabia s 1.2tsi with dsg box. Lists at just over 13k but you might get a deal.

Same set up in a polo is a couple of grand more! There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Our old Octavia has now gone after 9 years replaced by a fiat, but have a Google on the fabia there are loads of good reviews

Drive the deal are offering the Polo DSG Match 3 door for £12,339, which includes a £1400 contribution for their 6.7% finance. It's £13,739 without finance. The Fabia SE 1.2 DSG actually works out more expensive with them but does offer 0% apr finance. Polo will likely hold it's value a little better Thumbs Up I also know a contact in Ayr who is very competitive on prices and have bought a few cars from him (VW's) but think he also does Skoda.

The fabia S is cheaper, by a fair margin, but you don't get aircon.

Could always get her an old deafener...... pretty safe, slow, and now kitchy cool. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Now now Ross , back in my day it would have been the bus but the worlds a different place now , I would rather she got herself home in one piece rather than have to wait for a bus and then 2 trains at different train stations from University as there are more foreigners on the transport system than locals , especially from Paisley ... 😜😜 ...

Have been told to have a look at the Kia Rio as I might be able to get a good deal for cash on a new one 👍👍👍 ====================================

We don't get much in the way of good, SMALL cars here. What about a Golf or Polo? (Never actually seen a Polo for real, but it sounds like a small Golf.)

!8 year old girl? Fiat 500 or VW UP!, both available with insurance-friendly little engines. My 17 year old son doesn't want one because they're too "girly", so they must be OK for her!

However,

you are right. Don't buy without her, or buy from dealer stock with an agreement that if she doesn't like the colour you can swap it for an equivalent stock car.

Fiat 500 was a good choice for my 17yr old this year Mick... She got a second hand 2010 Lounge model, so leather, ac, pan roof, hifi etc etc etc. After passing her test the insurance was nice and low too as its the first era of the “safe impact cars”

Highly recommend it Thumbs Up

Can you not simply have a big bow or something delivered to the house with a card in it giving your intent to buy her a car that she'll like?

This will save you many hours during your holiday making arrangements that may have to be undone when you return.

Your daughter will be over the moon with the car, but especially so if it's one she chooses herself.

So you get it in the neck from wifey. There'll undoubtedly be other things that you'll also suffer for, so follow your head.

Unless, of course, that preserving your holiday sex-life really means that much to you. In which case, just buy something - anything - and retrieve your mojo. Very Happy Si. <This is my name.

I eat rat poison.

A man ain't truly been insulted until he stands buck naked in front of a woman and she didn't even notice. Or care.
