Yes the panel is available but wont be fun to replace as a good bit of labour stripping the interior on that side for the spot welds.

Rear panel is replaceable but it's a huge job. Mine rusted a touch and the options for me were to strip and replace or make good. The body shop advice was to make good as a panel renewal it's a real headache even for the pro's....sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

That'll pull out no problem. I've had worse done with pull pins and they do make a very good job of it TBH. I definitely wouldn't want to replace the whole panel for that amount of damage. Bear in mind what's behind it (lots of leccy bits) and it makes it a massive job.

Repair it rather than replace. Be worth getting some quotes first before going through insurance.

Yes, I think it would be an expensive repair. |

Had similar in France a few years ago they just don't view vehicles in the same way doesn't help your pain though get it repaired rather than replaced they will do a good job but make sure you choose where it gets done not the insurance company - they will use the cheapest and the paint won't be good so do some research and find a really good body work shop to do the work

That panel is steel, as we know from all the stories of rusting arches. A good panel man will get that back into shape without too much difficulty. Since it's on edges and corners it will stay in shape once repaired as well. Dents in the middle of panels are harder as they easily distort again with heat cycles (sunshine, then cold etc) I know it's not nice for the OP but it really isn't so bad to repair. Yes there will be paint but again it can be blended into the adjacent panels nicely and won't need a full side of the car re-spray. From past experience I would expect that to cost 600 to 800 quid in a decent place. Not exactly cheap but not mind-blowing either. |
