Issues that only occur when the transmission is cold are often linked to low fluid level. Maybe worth checking it.

Hi vmaxer a full gearbox/TC flush with a new autobox filter will sort out your problem. As your rig will get on in miles, once you feel a slip in TC lockup under heavy acceleration in 5th gear, immediately take the rig to your friendly gearbox place and ask them to rebuild the TC and modify the gearbox oilpump and solenoid with the Sonnax kit. http://www.sonnax.com/parts/4120-remanufactured-valve-body (GM-071 for L322 Td6) Failure to do so will strand you with a destroyed TC and a FULL gearbox rebuild. Unfortunately got my t-shirt on that one. Good luck |

Mine has done the same for years, reverse fine but only forward when warmed up or put into manual mode, will engage drive in auto after approx 10 secs, had gearbox services etc but live with it now |

I had that problem a while back. If the car was left standing overnight, in the morning after starting it wouldn't drive forward for a few seconds. I mentioned it to a gearbox specialist and he told me it sounded like the oil was draining back into the sump and needed a few seconds to circulate back into the box and build up pressure. I believe it is a faulty valve or seal (as mentioned in above post). I did have one embarrassing occasions when I was staying at a hotel with valet parking. He eventually turned up at reception in the morning saying he thought he had broken the car as he couldn't get it moving.
