i think those little 501 bulbs are only about 2/4 ohm John , so not to big.. ... - .- -.

parallel Bob, just to load the wiring with resistance..you only need one side done...luckily the contacts on the old bulb bend out easily for connecting a wire or soldering .. ... - .- -.

Either do I ..I've tried 3 different brands of led so it's not the bulbs. The one that does work has made a big diffrence. A lot more illumination from it compared to the old bulb..

I sorted this problem on my '06 by unfolding the wires on the old build and pushing the wires of the old bulb down inside the holder where the wiring goes into the holder, few drops of glue to hold them in place and then just refitted the holder into the mirror.

so by doing that with the old bulb, does that do the same thing as soldering a resistor across the wires ?
