Although my car has a satin finish Aniline Leather the drivers seat, no doubt due to constant polishing by my sweaty A, has gone a bit shiney. A quick google suggested nothing more than hot water and a magic eraser sponge was needed. So it proved the sponge and hot water lifted the oils etc and the leather is now matt awaiting me to apply some conditioner which I will do later when fully dry.
This little dodge cost me nothing other than some earache from SWMBO as the sponge came from HER kitchen.  Geoff

I never use anything else but a magic sponge for serious interior cleaning , the results are amazing and because no solvents are used you don't have to worry that the leather has been dried out too much . My eight year old steering wheel looks practically as new. 2008 MY Supercharged

I'll give it a try on other stuff, I have some marks around the door handles, the elbow pads and the window from my arm during the good weather all leather and all needing some TLC Geoff

OK... What's a Magic Sponge ?

Dunno what it's made of but it's a white block of firm spongy foam which works wonders. Get ours from the pound shop too.

Tesco do them as well it seems.

They are excellent, I use them all the time but do remember they are basically a very fine abrasive, you can ruin your leather finish if you go too mad, it will take the finish off totally...  Pete

It's just melamine foam , which is very fine and gets into the smallest grain or texture but yes it is abrasive so don't lean on it ,just wipe gently until surface is clean . 2008 MY Supercharged

Probably best just to put "magic eraser" in Google/Amazon/Ebay it's just looks like a little white sponge that works with water only. I would take note of the fact that it is abrasive and use gently. Geoff
