Gremlins!

While out driving tonight, I pulled up at a shop got out and my car wouldn't lock!! No matter what I done!! No buttons on my key fob done anything!! OK so I got back in and drove home, it started raining put the windscreen wipers on, 15mins later they just stopped, I tried all positions on the stick and still nothing would happen!! Drove home very carefully and pulled up, i done nothing other than put it into Park and put the handbrake on, thought I'd try the windscreen wipers again and they started working!!! Got out and the keyfob started working again!! Locked, unlocked no dramas!!!
Has anyone got any ideas???

Could have been local security camera's or equipment interference with your fob, hasn't happened to me, but I have heard about it.

I'd agree with gregdav on this one.

Not happened in my L322 but on my old P38 I saw people have issues all the time, then one day happened to me! Luckily I pushed it off the forecourt and all was good!

I'd keep an eye on it, or if anything else goes adrift check the battery and alternator!

Sounds lile the bcm is packing/playing up.

It controls remote locking and wipers and common to go wrong on the older models (on my phone can't see your model)

Switzerland 2006 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Santorini Black

Hy,
I never had it happen to me in my L322, but the P38a was famous for that.
They changed the Frequency with the new Model its way better. But when the BeCM gets no clear signal it decides to do nothing (even worse when trying to unlock Sad )
I had it happen (P38a) near security networks, remote operated cranes, very big electro Motors and trafo stations. I then had to wait till the source was gone or push my car some meters away Censored

Greetings from Switzerland
Peter

I'd second the BECM, the L322 is far better shielded than the old P38 against electrical interference and it wouldn't effect your wipers anyway...

Difficult to confirm it's the BECM as it's an intermittent fault... either wait till something else happens or just replace it...

Could see if any faults are logged which may give some help....

Thumbs Up Pete

My parking sensors have now gone tits up! The long beep and flashing light etc! Not sure if it's connected but a mate of mine reckons hes got a diagnostic machine so I'll get his off him and try and see what's happening! Thinking of it though this parking sensors issue has only played up since using my pressure washer on the wagon?? Poss cause???

It can in theory damage sensors but I've never managed it and I have a Nixon (agricultural) jetwash.
