Now I don't know whether this is as a result of the weather turning colder, but this has only just come about since we got down to 0 degrees.

Problem 1
Turning the steering wheel to the left, whether standing still, moving forwards or reversing, I get a loud (even inside the cabin) graunching/creaking noise from the steering - seemingly on the left side. This only makes a noise when turning to the left, not when returning from the left lock to centre or when coming back from right lock to centre.

Had track control arm fitted to drivers side 6 months ago.

Steering itself seems fine, no problems, wobbles etc when normal driving.

Problem 2
When moving off after about 20 yards or so, I get a knock from underneath ( I can feel it under my left foot). Doesn't seem to be gearshift related ( new gearbox 1.5 years ago)

Problem 3
Knocking and creaking noise from passenger side rear, but not necessarily related to going over bumps, and somehow seems to be linked to Problem 1 when turning left

Looks like ball joints, track control arms, but anything else I should worry about?  .

Problem 1 sounds like our old enemy ball joint

Problem 2 I couldn't say, you would be best get underneath and see if anything is loose or touching the bodywork

Problem 3 There are several bushes on the rear suspension that wear out and could possible need replacing

Thanks 47 - I'll report back once its been into the tame mechanics for inspection. want it to warm up a bit now, just to see if any of the problems go away with warmer weather  .

If it is a ball joint you're best getting it done as soon as possible.

Once they start creaking they are on the way out

Must have the "self-healing" option pack on my FFRR, as all problems and noises went away 5 days ago, even with the temperatures down at sub zero still. I'll still be getting it looked at  .

If there is a lot of water on the roads or damp conditions the noise could seem to disappear as the water lubricates the joint. A few dry days soon dries it out again and the noise re-appears
