Saw the headline and thought the same thing. What next! What is off limits for these twisted individuals.

As a practicing Muslim, i fail to see how these barbaric disgusting actions can make anyone feel/think, who is in their right mind, that this is acceptable in any shape or form. 2011 5.0SC Santorini Black

'There are also reports that one of the attackers was a local resident who was under electronic tag surveillance having been jailed in France for trying to travel to Syria in 2015. His bail terms allowed him to be unsupervised between 8.30am and 12.30pm - the attack happened between 9am and 11.am.'

I was going to say that it's high time the death penalty was brought back, but that is what these 'people' want!

What the hell are the authorities doing when they know about these people! Don't tag them, bag them!!!

I really do feel sorry for ordinary Muslims at the moment, because of these nutters the whole faith is coming under scrutiny, and an element of distrust.
I travel weekly from home in Wiltshire to Cambridge via Paddington and Kings Cross, and I know I shouldnt, but I do feel slightly apprehensive of using the Underground and the trains at the moment, but what can you do.

I agree with the death Penalty. How many horrible humans are occupying spaces in cells in this country costing us a fortune after killing numerous people and proved guilty beyond doubt and will spend 50+years at £50k+ a year cost to us?!?

I completely condemn the vile actions of these nutters 100%. The death penalty is not the answer though, that just reduces society to their level.

Interesting to hear the noises about closing borders coming out of Germany. High time they did. Adds credence to our own national desire to control our borders.

How shameful though, that it takes such wanton acts of terrorism to make us wake up to the threats, and all the while that tw.at Juncker is still bleating about completely free movement. He's the one who needs shooting IMHO.

This has been a great dinner party argument with me for many a year and I have yet to hear a rational reason why we should keep the blatantly guilty, " they are ill and we owe them" does not wash with me or any rational person IMHO

Discuss !!

^^ For me it's not about who we owe what to, but I recall just as if it were yesterday the last words from Albert Pierrepoint on the matter.
"All it ever achieved was revenge"

1. I don't see why we should reduce society to their level, and
2. There are numerous cases of Police corruption and/or miscarriages of justice in the past. I wouldn't fancy being on the receiving end of that.

Point 2 is getting worse as well. Ever since the rozzers have been measured on crime figures they have played to them and massaged them as far as possible. That isn't getting any better, in fact it gets worse every day. Every speeding ticket they dish out helps the overall average as it's a crime solved and it generates revenue for them. People are actively dissuaded from reporting crimes they know they can't solve etc. There's no reason to believe they would behave any differently if the death penalty were involved.

Please define "Blatantly guilty"

In whose eyes? The eyes of the law? The judiciary? Who exactly?

Judges too have been involved in unsavoury activities. Juries are made up of ones peers so presumably as poorly educated as me in some instances. And also bear in mind how many guilty would walk free because jury members would rather do that than condone the death penalty. I certainly would REGARDLESS of all other circumstances as I simply refuse to have another's blood on my hands. There are many more like me, irrational I think you said.

It's a very imperfect science and for such a final penalty to be available the whole process has to be perfect. Good luck creating that. Besides, are you talking about justice, or revenge? Are we not taught that there is no justification for taking the life of another? It logically follows that it must necessarily be an act of revenge or vengeance since there is no justification (justice) in doing it. Unless of course you follow Sharia law, part of the exact thing we collectively abhor in this civilised country.

There's a few rational reasons to chew over. Thumbs Up

Yep, and now you have a problem which is hard to fix. With Germany's history they have to tread more carefully than any other country in the world when it comes to their treatment of anyone non-German.

Frau Merkel has much to answer for. As does that Juncker bloke. All their misplaced ideology has cost Europe dearly. Let us hope that the German people will remember all this when it comes time to vote. Thumbs Up
