Needed to move the FF yesterday. From cold the engine was running for less than a minute as I moved it 10 feet then turned the engine off. I didnt lock it as I was going to clean the rear luggage compartment (calling it a boot seems a bit common for an FF). The car had been stood for about three minuets when I heard a noise (I was outside near the front off side wheel) that seemed to be a 'fan' type noise coming from the area of the scuttle and lasting about 15 seconds. I wouldn't have thought anything would have been on long enough to need cooling, but what else could the noise be? QUID FACIUM TIBI

ECU box under the bonnet has a fan to cool it, it will come on pretty often in this weather even without the engine on for long, it vents to the inside just above the brake pedal.... Pete

My FBH will occasionally do this, sometimes without even starting the engine, just opening the bonnet seems to be enough encouragement!
