Stuck!

Hi All,

Mark here from Northamptonshire - member since 2014 when I was thrilled to take ownership of a 2010MY Vogue SE. Loved everday of trouble free ownership ever since, however a growing/ageing family meant that we needed more seats and so yesterday took delivery of a Discovery. Not quite the same Wink

Anyway, I have used this forum lot's, read countless threads over the last couple of years and thought I could offer a couple of bits for sale/giveaway - however am stuck, don't have the requisite amount of posts, and cannot contact admin via PM to discuss either.

From the rules I'm also not supposed to post with the express purpose to up the count - so not entirely sure how this post is going to be received!

Anyway - if nothing else - thanks to the group from a dedicated 'lurker',

Kind Regards,

Mark.

Hi,

Interested to know why the Discovery is "not quite the same". Obviously they are different but I'd love to know from someone who has owned both.

Hi - I only picked it up yesterday, but perhaps that is the perfect time to notice the subtle differences...

1. Switchgear feels more 'plasticky' and 'clicky' it's not bad by any stretch but not as nice to feel/use as that in the Vogue.
2. Lower - my wife doesn't call out of the Discovery
3. Doors don't feel anywhere near as solid or heavy as they Vogue - which always felt like you were closing a granite hewn door
4. Seats aren't as comfortable - they really were like armchairs

On the plus side, the entertainment system is more modern.

I'll add more as it hits me Wink

Interesting. Thanks very much for letting me know. I have a 2014 D4 and a friend has a 2010 RR Vogue which I've been lucky to drive on several occasions. Absolutely love my Discovery but the RR just feels a more relaxed place to drive from.

United Kingdom 2005 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.2 SC V8 Bonatti Grey

Went from a 2007 D3 HSE to my current 2005 S/C. RR is a better car for me except load space and the flat surface. A plus for the RR is the RSE and more refined in every way to be honest. D3 was a cleverer car for loading etc...

Also reckon the D3 was more expensive to service and maintain than the S/C too which was a nice surprise!

They sell the Disco at half a FF's new price... That has to be felt in the engineering or everyone would buy a Disco, no... Censored

yep...

frankly - the Disco is a very well specced and comfortable car - especially the Landmark (or equiv) which I guess they loaded with toys to get shot of...

Either way, if I was in the position to buy a brand new 405 then I think i'd still have to think long and hard about whether the extra 40k could be justified!

Not a problem I have to worry about thought Smile
