Bluetooth music streaming in any FF

If you are like me and use your AUX to play music everyday and don't have a brand new RR, you might be frustrated at the lack of Bluetooth alternatives. Well I found this online and it arrived today, first impressions are that its an amazing little bit of kit, so thought i would share...

It basically plugs into your AUX, and although it has its own internal battery, It has a supplied USB cable to keep it charged. It also wakes up when the cable is plugged into power. So if you leave it plugged into the cigarette lighter, when you start the car, it will also start this device!
You can have up to 2 devices connected (Only one playing at a time), It remembers and auto reconnects to the last device and even has control on it to skip songs/change volumes if required. It was super easy to pair with my iPhone and acts like most factory Bluetooth options you find in most cars these days. The quality is good from the small amount I've listened to on it. A real bargain for £11 I'd say!

Only thing I haven't tested is how it reacts to phone calls etc. I have 2 phones so not a problem for me, but can test if someone wants to know the results! It apparently handles calls on it's own, not sure if you can be connected to the cars own BT phone simultaneously though...

At the moment I have my AUX going into the cubby and this device plugged into the USB. Just need to figure out a way to pipe the aux cable into the bottom/side of the cubby to stop it going in through the top. Although there is a little canal for cables to stop them getting crushed, It just doesn't look that neat. Ideas for that anyone?

I can take some pics of mine if you guys want.

I have a similar device bought via eBay.
It's a bit neater than the one above and works great. Has playback buttons and looks okay stuck to the dash.... Suspends the connection to my iPhone when the car Bluetooth recovers a call. It's simply great imho.

unfortunately can't buy the tune to air WMA2000 anymore as apple had a paddy about them using the 30 pin connector unlicensed and they had to drop the one which connects to the iPod cable in the latter cars. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Interesting.

Just experienced the BT route in a Disco Sport when I had the FFRR in for servicing. I linked the fact I could get song info on the console screen and play/pause. Well, once I got it paired... Rolling Eyes

I love the idea.

Sorry, stupid question time: how does this improve on just plugging the iPod/MP3 player into the AUX with a cable? Don't I still have to turn on the player manually?

Here's mine in situ... Cables routes into rear Aux socket....
Great thing is I jump in the car and press the play button on it and it picks up where my music playback left off.... It's a neat solution if you ask me ?!

Mines plugged into the AUX too and powered from one of the power points.

I hid the unit under the kick plate of the centre consol, plenty of room there.

Works very well, never have to think about it.

had the Tune2Air bc it shows song info on my idrive in my M5 and I could use the steering wheel controls to skip songs. Other BT gadgets didn't do this. I've messed with nearly a half dozen. The others sounded like crap when paired to iphone. Tune2Air sounds fantastic and does everything. So I got another for the Range...although I don't believe it shows music info or allows skipping via steering wheel.

I have it hooked up in the rear. I have a cig lighter to USB socket and this is plugged into the USB and into the Aux socket. Out of sight and out of mind. 2014 FF Autobiography 5.0 SC
