United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Supercharged 4.2 SC V8 Java Black
2nd day of ownership couple of issues

Didn't take long to need your help! Picked up 4.2 SC '07 and LOVE it, but.........
PDC works then doesn't, listened to sensors and one of the rear innerspring isn't ticking, managed push it out and swap it for another one and still doesn't work so assume it's the loom ( read this is common fault) new loom or fix possible? Need know how rear bumper is removed please.
Second problem, lock it with remote, indicators flash, it is dead locked and there's a flashing red light in instrument cluster BUT led on top of dash isn't lit? Sure it should be? Sat inside and locked it and doors are dead locked and when I moved a weak alarm sounded , unlocked and it went off, any ideas?
Came from BMW 750i '98 and things seem very similar guess that was BMW's influence.

when i got mine, i had a bad back sensor. i crawled underneath and recrimped the joins that i found, pushed up near bumper, and it worked.

You have to be brave pulling the sides away from below the rear wing. Confused
You will break some of the clips Evil or Very Mad

That said it is one of the easier jobs to remove the bumper Thumbs Up .

Ordered a new loom, let's hope I'm brave enough get bumper off!
What about LED not flashing now?
Got front wheel off now to clean inner of rim, looks good actually had recent new discs on, paint the disc bells while I'm there, OCD is kicking in!

Red lamp on top of dash board.

Don't think that is a light. If you mean the one in middle below windscreen. It is a sensor. But not sure what for. Could be for. Auto headlamps ? 2006 vogue se td6 silver. Bailey unicorn 3 Cadiz . Discovery td5 & many other types before.

I'm fairly certain it's an alarm indicator and should flash when alarm armed, someone will know if theirs flashes when they lock it ??

As I understand it that 'LED' is actually the solar load sensor for the a/c system so, no, it shouldn't glow at all ... Regards,

Gonna have read the handbook carefully, lets hope your right, in which case I've not got a problem, (was thinking it was like the BMW I've just sold, that did illuminate the LED on dash top when you locked it).
Got a flat battery yesterday whilst I was removing wheels for cleaning etc!! Decided put new battery on it sooner than later , gone for the max AH available 110 not the 95AH it's got at present.
Loom for Pdc should be here tomorrow, soon be sorted hopefully and I can enjoy driving her now she's becoming sorted, hate new cars till I've got them to my OCD standard.

I can confirm the red plastic dome on top of the Dash is a sun light sensor for the HEVAC , it compensates for direct sunlight into the cabin . Thumbs Up the alarm on led is in the instrument cluster . 2008 MY Supercharged

Thanks, looks like I'd invented a problem that didn't exist! Sorted.
New loom for rear bumper has arrived today so if weather holds off from raining (again) I will attempt that fix and continue the wheel cleaning , I'll post a pic of it soon also hopefully. Cheers.

Regarding the battery: be very careful to disconnect it the right way. If not, you're going to post a lot more and might end at the dealer's Big Cry More information in the Wiki. Thumbs Up

Bumper removed, loom swapped, check pdc, nothing!! Swear, put old loom back, nothing! More swearing, put new loom back, works!,, obviously plugged in correctly now. Then one of sensor brackets detaches from bumper, more swearing! Eventually refit it with 3M body moulding tape, bumper back, then spend hour trying re fit rear mud flaps properly. Eventually done and Pdc still working Very Happy
Next job!
Battery swapped, phew bit of a swine that was, definitely 2 person job, thought the new one was too big but with bit of wiggling it went in ( let's hope I don't ever need another one) secured it, reconnected and bonnet returned to stays without any mishaps, put new one on CTek charger top it up overnight should be good to go now. Let's hope it was battery and I've not got a drain!, soon be time drive her!

The PDC has failed again! This time none of the sensors are ticking, doesn't seem to switch on when select reverse, if switch on it gives a long beep and the indicator on switch flashes but non of the sensors is ticking?..
Any ideas? Seems odd it was working then stopped again?. Damn thing!

Axle and Spooky are correct. The red dome on the dashboard is just a sensor. My car has a flashing red light by the rear view mirror. No longer FF owner but still interested. Present car Jaguar XE
