I wouldn't be surprised since I should be a pretty straight run into the bowels of the engine. Ed

What did you think you would find or hear ? Shocked

It's a massive 4.4 V8 diesel engine with 2 Turbo's, timing chain and 16 valves going up and down thousands of times every minute - right inside the valve cover - it's not a euro box with a tiny 1.1 engine Wink You were lucky you didn't get covered in oil. Cool relax the racket is normal - even a small amount of smoke from a tiny bit of blowback coming out of the oil filler is also normal.

You should hear a large tractor or truck engine close up Thumbs Up 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17

Need to update my sig line, the GTE went a couple of years ago, to be replaced with a TVR chimaera, then a sierra cosworth, then a porsche 911, then an Audi RS6

Needless to say i get bored quickly Embarassed

PS Vogue, i worked on trucks for over 15 years but have never heard such a well insulated oil filler cap as on the 4.4 tdv8 Shocked Paul
