Dealers Disconnected Dash Cam!

Car in main LR dealer today for a little warranty job. I've just pulled the dash cam card for a look and the last thing you can hear is 2 mechanics discussing the camera as they disconnect it....

mechanic A - "is it off?"
mechanic B - "just unplug it"

Even more annoying they reconnected it before I arrived, but with the record function disabled. If I hadn't checked it I'd have been driving round for dear knows how many months thinking it was recording when it wasn't.

M.

Hmmmm. Doesn't sound good. Although they may not have done anything wrong. So next time fit another that they can't see and that doesn't make a sound when recording. Thumbs Up

Of course they wouldn't rag it up and down the motorway giving it an Italian tune up! Rolling Eyes Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

When my Westminster arrives I'm seriously thinking about fitting a tracker so that I can see where the "Top Gear Stig" wannabe's have taken it when it's in for a service or repair Shocked Shocked 2021 D350 Fifty Edition

Some trackers will send a text to you if the car goes over a prescribed speed. Thumbs Up

The morons in my local garage forgot to disconnect mine before taking it up a country lane (60mph limit) at 90mph. I also had to listen to them fumble about with the HDC switch to get the suspension to raise Rolling Eyes

Won't be going back there in a hurry...

It's going to Barnstaple Land Rover this week - will be interesting to see if their technicians are any more competent.

Got my car back from saxton 4x4 yesterday, out of curiosity i viewed the cam footage as i have a tracker fitted, and the car spent most of the time in their car park, and a few hours in the workshop, they had the car a week.

Anyway, they shoved some blue roll tissue between the cam and windscreen, but didn't do it on the rear cam, so i could see when it went into the garage to be worked on. They didn't realise that the camera records audio and i heard them bitching about the camera Very Happy

It was delivered back late yesterday afternoon; even though they told me it would be back before noon. The delivery driver was really bitching to his colleague about driving back so late and was discussing the fact that i "made him sign some bullshit paperwork" and called me a crack head Very Happy as I printed out a vehicle damage handover form, that also recorded the date and time he took it, so any speeding or other charges were his responsibility, I signed a similar form when I took the curtesy car from them, so why not have them do it to my car. His mate way telling him to just call me and say he was stuck in traffic and that he wouldn’t be able to deliver it back till tomorrow, luckily for the delivery driver he decided not to lie, and I got the car back yesterday, had to laugh. He was desperate to get away, but I made sure I checked the car for damage, and made sure he’d filled it up with diesel. Cars fine now no more rattles Very Happy Dave

I think most are fitted with trackers now so i expect every owner/customer to know where their cars are at all times when with their cars are with me...

Simples Thumbs Up
