Brake disc anti rust stuff

Does anyone know of any product that can sprayed or applied to the brake discs to prevent rusting or the brake pads sticking when the car is parked up long term. Obviously the residue must not interfere with braking efficiency when the car is eventually driven.
Ta chaps. Travelling around in circles again.

Thank you Weegie. Much appreciated. I'm moving to France permanently in 8 weeks and then off to Italy with my missus for 14 weeks (her job). Both cars are remaining in France for the duration.
Thanks once again. Travelling around in circles again.

Good idea but am I missing something, how do you spray the back of the discs to protect them while they are in situ on the car?

Same area as before?

@ nice day, should think you have to take the discs off. But then if it is for longer than just a week or so then OK. John

But reading the description of one of the products it suggests it stops the brake pads sticking which implies the discs are left in situ on the car.
Removing discs is the way to go if you must but then you might as well keep them in the house where they won't rust anyway.
I've left a car for more than 8 weeks before using again and although the discs had surface rust one journey and it had all cleared and that car was parked in the open 25m from the sea.

I'm not after a perfect solution, just something to minimize the natural build up of rust that occurs when a vehicle is left stationary for long periods. I expect the pads will still stick to the discs but I also expect the spray will make it easier to free the pads when the time comes to drive the car again. Travelling around in circles again.

What about a car cover or something to cover the wheels, if water isn't getting on to the disc the rust won't be as extreme

Covering the car won't help as the discs will develop surface rust from moisture in the air anyway.
I would leave the parking brake off, operate the footbrake a few times just to lift the pads off the discs, chock the wheels and then clean the discs when you get back. They won't be that bad in my experience. 2021 D350 Fifty Edition - Carpathian Grey

Weegie - Same area, 30 mins S of Bergerac.
Rob 99 - Have decided to take battery out, chock up car and spray stuff on the discs.
Will be doing the same thing to wife's Audi.

When the time comes I'll take photos and then do a before and after post just to let everyone know how well or otherwise the spray worked. Travelling around in circles again.

Leave the handbrake off and then as mentioned a quick journey will remove the rust.

If you're removing the discs then don't forget to put them back on when you get home, 'yeah love I'll just nip to the shop to get us some milk aaarrggghhhhhh' Dan
