Question about Fuel Guard on Jag XJ

Friggin fuel guard that is on my Jag XJ every time i insert the diesel nozzle it triggers it all the time , i have tried holding the nozzle away slightly even upside down but within seconds it activates the lock .. major PITA ... Can this be removed via a garage ... Always got to get the key out the boot to de activate it ...

Sorry, but can't help myself: is that because it is actually a petrol Mick ?????

So got that out of my system.

Sounds like the damn thing is just broken as I don't believe the things have settings options. Probably just needs replacement. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

It can be replaced Mick. I had SWMBO's XF done under warranty for the same thing. So, if it can be replaced it must be the case that it can just be removed and not replaced. I'd bet strong money the part is identical too.

As long as only you do the filling up, something I suspect will be the case if your SWMBO is the same as mine, it won't be an issue. Thumbs Up

However, in the event of the second coming of Christ (your Mrs actually fills it up one day) you probably do want to be sure she doesn't fill it with the wrong fuel. Mrs Dom actually asked me one day why petrol pumps had so many nozzles which just goes to show how often she fills up.

Just reminded me, I do recall a bi-fuel Trooper we used to have. She called me from the shoulder of the M6 having run out of both LPG and Petrol. Fuel fairy must have been on strike that week. Banging Head
