Though this thread is quite old, the problem where the language turns to French is caused by the onboard computer settings.

This also happened to me when i installed the MK4 sat nav, enable alerts and back to english |

Aha! I wondered why mine sometimes did that and other times it didn't. It's annoying so I'll turn memo off. Thanks for that. OH, mine did it every hour at nn59. Ron B. Mine has done this twice in 3 years but goes into German not French.Went into menu and messed around until I found language and changed it to gb,a little tricky when it is all in German !It has also recently decided to change temps from centigrade into Farenheit but I don't know how to get that back as yet ! |

The temperature unit is changed in the setup menu on the sat nav - its on the same screen as the fuel consumption units l/100km, mpg etc etc. 2008 TDV8 |
