The speed camera issue is quite common. It's down to the fact that the discs with this enabled are not OEM but modified to show speed cameras. The problem is that the mod uses one of the language 'sets' so is done against the English set. If you disable them then you are actually selecting a different language set which is the French one. 2005 Range Rover L322 TD6

cheers for the response and the clarification chap.

I'm sure I can live with the speed camera alerts and keep the English language.

Though this thread is quite old, the problem where the language turns to French is caused by the onboard computer settings.
When you turn "speed camera" to off you activate the French language for the message screen. (French = 2, english = 1, and the choice to activate or disactivate speedcamera alerts chooses either one of these sets and thereby activating the other)

Aha! I wondered why mine sometimes did that and other times it didn't. It's annoying so I'll turn memo off. Thanks for that.

OH, mine did it every hour at nn59. Ron B. VK2OTC

Mine has done this twice in 3 years but goes into German not French.Went into menu and messed around until I found language and changed it to gb,a little tricky when it is all in German !It has also recently decided to change temps from centigrade into Farenheit but I don't know how to get that back as yet !

The temperature unit is changed in the setup menu on the sat nav - its on the same screen as the fuel consumption units l/100km, mpg etc etc. 2008 TDV8
