Car not being used long term - should I remove battery?

Bit of advice required here chaps. I'm going to be working away for 4 months and the car will be left stationary in a safe place. Should I remove the battery or just let it run flat naturally whilst the car is in situ and then charge it up when I return?
I'd rather not leave the keys with someone who may or may not turn the car over regularly.

I agree with Stan, disconnect and still put a trickle charger, one that keeps the battery in good shape.

Also I would put the car on (wooden) blocks so the pressure if off the tires and a small leak won't end up in crushed sidewalls. May sound a bit over the top but hey, better safe than sorry Wink. I would put the blocks under the suspension arms, not the car by the way, so the car sits at normal height plus clearance (and put it in access height as well). MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

The car is being left outside but I don't fancy the idea of a long cable across the driveway connected to an electrical point inside the house. I like idea of disconnecting the battery and a couple of wooden blocks under the suspension arms.
I'm just concerned what effect no battery power for 12 to 14 weeks will have on the various electrical systems when I reconnect power. Travelling around in circles again.

I have a ctek charger and the various connections. I shall probably remove the battery completely and connect it to the ctek via a socket in an outbuilding. I'm just not happy having the battery in the car whilst connected to a live socket I have no control over for 12 weeks. Travelling around in circles again.

If it is left outside, consider a Solar powered trickle charger. Previous cars:
S-Max 2007-2013 (only diesel I've had, good car but expensive when diesely bits go wrong, so what's the point?)
Galaxy 2001-2007
Mondeo Estate 1997-2001
Sierra Estate 1993-1997
Uno Turbo 1987 -1993
Fiesta 1984 - 1987
Fiat 127 1982 - 1984

appj 62 has a point, the solar charger has been discussed in plenty posts on here and seem to work well. That way you only have to worry about the blocks Smile MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

Based upon all of your advice I shall remove the battery completely and connect it up to my ctek. I will also put wooden blocks under the suspension arms.
Thank you all for the advice. Travelling around in circles again.
