I am running kodi on a firestick quite happily here in Poland. Have no issues with getting any channels through various Repos. Only thing that doesn't work is iPlayer due to geo location issues. If I swap my connection to a UK VPN then iPlayer (and other catch up services) works.

Only issue I can foresee would be if the hotel internet speed is too slow or is throttled in anyway. 2008 TDV8

slightly Off Topic (sorry stan) - what do people find is the best unit to run KODI? I'm a newbie but want to get it up and running and was looking at either the fire stick, the fire tv box or potentially one of the many boxes available on the bay-of-e that comes preloaded? MY11 Vogue 4.4 TDV8 - "African Queen"

I have tried a few different things for different family members. Bottom line is that Kodi is only as good as the Repositorys (Repos) you load onto it. Kodi as such is like an operating systems such as iOS or Android and the Repos are the apps. There are hundreds of Repos you can install all offering different contents. Some are better than others in that the developers are constantly updating them and making sure the links are still live and working correctly.

With regards to hardware I guess it comes down to some personal choices and your technical ability. The firestick is good for a neat install as it plugs into a HDMI port out of sight with no extra clutter but with the fire stick and box you will need to install kodi and your own repos - however if you can install a program on a pc you can install a repo. The preloaded boxes obviously have everything loaded and are plug and play, the majority will self update and you really shouldn't have any issues with them. There are many different variations on the boxes as you will have noticed on the bay - there are some dual core processors, some 4 core. Some have internal memory so you can download films to them to watch later but they will all have sd card slots so I tend to save money and buy one with smaller memory (8gb) and put an SD card in to boost the memory.

If you don't feel confident with doingbyour own installs then go for a pre loaded box to start with. Once you have it all working if you think you are missing a particular service or package, There are plenty of videos on you tube and internet tutorials that will take you through step by step how to install new Repos and you can add them to your box. 2008 TDV8

Slightly O/T, just set one up , relatively simple, have done areswizard & pulse. Any recommended HD feeds for Sky sports, or is it trial & error? Can the path be easily changed if the feed you originally select is poor? Really hope that makes sense! Thumbs Up

United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Autobiography TDV8 Zambezi Silver

I've been doing kodi a few years and used many Fire tv boxes mainly as there reliable and pretty fast the sticks can freeze a bit tbh, a few mx boxes and a couple nvidea shield which are good but a bit more money, as for sports I pay for Dexter pro which is reliable now but there are others if you search, the free ones which are OK are UKTV now, Phoenix sports devil Xo1000 sports castaway Zem sports to name a few, I start off with paradox build and customise it a bit with the shortcuts on screen for easier access

If you have Turks TV loaded it usually works well for sports feeds. Go to Turks TV then click the Sport section and go from there.

I've been using MQX boxes @ £26.00 a pop for a while now and they're great, just need to update them when the older software version starts playing up. Currently running Kodi 16.0 Jarvis with theblackboxostv loaded onto it and it never misses a beat. One in the lounge (SWMBO can't work it Embarassed ) one in the garage, one in my daughter's and I also loaded Kodi and TBB onto my Mac desktop
