Does anyone know if the adaptive headlights/adaptive front/AFS have any external visual differences to the standard xenon lights. Is there anything in the system menu that indicates they are fitted. I would have thought an option to stop them swivelling. On startup, I assume the self test is obvious if you are looking at the car from the front externally? I am used to them on Volvos and they are easy to spot/identify/notice operating when driving... Thanks

Thanks Stan. My build sheet is not showing on vindecoderz... The vehicle is new so I think not yet loaded.
I drove it in the dark and it wasn't obvious at all. On my Volvo it was obvious... So they are either not fitted or not activated (if they need be activated).
I had a new vehicle delivered in Jan which was ordered with AFS/adaptive xenons. But a factory error meant they weren't fitted. So they built me a new one which I collected on Monday and I am thinking this one also doesn't have them fitted...

Park facing a wall and turn the steering from side to side. It should be obvious whether or not the beam follows the wheel.

Not too sure I'm on the right track here but if it's what I think you are asking I'm not aware of any visible difference but they do need to be set via the driver menu feature. That way you'll notice them go to full beam automatically, provided there's no on coming traffic and will illuminate around corners when driving slowly and turning.

Paul J. They don't work when a vehicle is stationary.
When you switch your ignition on you can see the warning light self test - I think its amber for a few seconds. When you put your light switch to Auto (in the dark) you should see the word Auto next to it in green.

It is obvious when you are driving in the dark, especially if you come to a sharp bend or left turn, it should light up the kerb.

You WILL know if you have them!

The menu that Basilfaulty is referring to is for the high beam assist function. But that's a good check, I think you have to have adaptive headlights if you have high beam assist.

High beam assist is standard however adaptive and assist is a £315 option on the AB.
I agree though these really should be standard!

I have adaptive that doesn't test on start up but works fine. I do not have high beam assist though. Is it really standard?

Don't think high beam assist was on the 322?

That'll teach me not to read the title! My Mate has a 322 and has high beam assist. His is well specced though.
