2002 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Alaska White
Hi guys

Hi Guys need some help here, after finding what I thought was the perfect L322 and paying a good price it has had one problem after another inc stripped spark plug hole and misfire fault all now sorted, 2 days after buying it came up Air sup , HDC,ABS failure, took it to a guy who had the correct diagnostic tool and he said it was prob a break in the wire between an abs sensor and the ecu, my partner put a snap on machine on it and the O/S/F wheel sensor wasn't reading so changed the sensor (had yo drill out) and he phones me saying cars all perfect all lights out and car goes up and down. On the way home is when it blew the spark plug clean out the head so he repaired that and now when the car starts it just reads Air Susp Innoperative, no warning lights and HDC ABS warning etc just the ASI warning in the digital display and no orange light to indicate at what level the car is at yet it was working a week ago when parked up, HELP any ideas

Get the battery tested. These cars are notorious for needing a large and well charged battery. If it's the original chances are it's below the required condition for a FFRR and if it's been replaced at some point it may have been with a battery which doesn't have the required CCA or AH ratings.

If the battery voltage dips badly during cranking the engine over it can put the various ECUs into a real pickle. Volts should be about 14.4 running and at least 12.4 when off. No lower than 11 volts during the start.

Preferred option on here seems to be the 110 AH Bosch or Varta units.

I'd suggest to start checking all the posts on air suspension here and see what could be wrong. Sorry to not have better news. Start with the simple stuff, listening for any leaks (does it lose height after standing for a while, mine lowered itself a little bit before the front suspension airbag really gave up). Check if all hoses are fine.

Start looking at the compressor, has it been refurbished, if not probably time to do it. Little things like the air vent filter clogging/rusting can cause issues etc.

Check wiring again, connectors (water ingress etc.), earthing.

Hope you find the problem soon and that the solution is cheap and quick Smile MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

I dont think the compressor is at fault as when it was going up and down it was much faster than my L322 which i wasnt impressed with, I think we will try my brand new Bosch battery in it over the weekend. Just to add insult to injury the cable from outer door handle to lock snapped yesterday om Missbelles car !!!! God I hate that car. One day your life will flash before your eyes......................................make sure yours is worth watching!

Worth a battery disconnection procedure, then a lock to lock on the steering to clear the lights, that should reset everything.

Failing that, need a full diagnostics for all the fault codes, then clear all the faults, run it, then if it recurs, run full diagnostics fault check again and see what has come back. Then start to investigate these one by one. .

Tried Bat disconnect both leads and touch ends together, doesnt appear to register a fault code on my snap on scanner which picked the wheel sensor fault up straight away. One day your life will flash before your eyes......................................make sure yours is worth watching!
