ok , sussed it...you can do it but you loose the main mph dial..

in the ccf , instrument pack , set main scale to kph.

this is what you end up with in the range rover 'units' menu ,

miles, mph, mpg will show main dial kph, digital mph
miles, mph, mpl will show main dial kph, digital mph
km,km/h,l/100km will show main dial kph, digital kph

but no main dial mph ...

to get mph main dial back you have to play with the ccf again and set main scale to mph.. ... - .- -.

Stan,

Im not sure if the IID Tool displays the same menu "Headings" as a Faultmate but you can definitely have the main dial reading MPH or KPH.

You need to set the "Main Scale Units" to "Trip Computer Kph/Mph" then under the menu heading "Initial Units" make sure the "Second Display" is set to "Display" (that gives the digital readout in the middle) then set the "Second Display Units" to "MPH" and finally set the "Units" to "Same as Trip"

What this then gives you is the normal large MPH dials with small MPH digital readout until you go into the trip computer and change the units from "miles, mph, mpg" to "km,km/h,l/100km" as soon as you change it the main display dials change from MPH to KPH but the small digital display remains as MPH at all times Thumbs Up

Your post this morning kicked me into digging the info out so I can send you my old CCF file if it helps!

Cheers,

Those aren't all available as standard on the IID, but I think Pat should be able to give access. Thumbs Up Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

Really Shocked I am surprised that the IID tool doesn't offer full access to all Menus in the CCF - hopefully someone will be along with an explanation as to why shortly.

It's capable of it, but as standard, GAP only offer the settings that are tried and tested, because some parameters can result in trouble if they are changed. If these settings are found to be nice and stable, then I imagine GAP will want to add them in future. Thumbs Up Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

Andy, your faultmate must access more options than the iidtool....i've just got a reply from Pat and he has confirmed the iidtool is limited to what i have described above with no option to permanently keep the digital at mph, regardless of main dial selection....

anyway , what do you think of this conversation i've had with my wife,

me; cant do it Crying or Very sad
wife; when we are in france can you not select kph

me ;yes, but i would like to know what mph we are doing
wife; then change it to mph via the dash menu to see then change it back to kph, takes seconds doesnt it?

me; Shocked ...flipping women...

after numerous emails to Pat , this clever GAP chap has now written this setting into the beta firmware...

this option will be available in the next normal iidtool update...

so now the 'second display units' is now configurable as in Ajays faultmate settings [thank you Ajay Wink ]..

for beta users,

Menu->Car Config->Untested Settings

Main scale unit set to Trip
Digital Speed set to Display
Second Display unit set to MPH

use search to find the sub menus
 ... - .- -.

This is why GAP are the way forward leaving the "competition" behind. Thumbs Up

Now that my FFRR has gone and I managed to "offload" my faultmate for a very reasonable price it's time for some home truths! Shocked

The faultmate is a fantastic bit of kit but wayyy over priced and let down by a degree of arrogance by the manufacturers. Their support forum is littered with comments implying "well tough these are the rules and if you don't like it" - I had a few "off site" conversations from like minded owners who were scared to question or criticise for fear of being banned or not receiving any support in the future.

I had mine for over three years, paid over £1800 for it with the MV licence and basically most of the functionality hadn't been introduced for the 2010MY FFRR Big Cry I can't remember the last time there was a firmware update and the forum can best be described as "tumbleweed". If you try typing IID tool or GAP on their site you might as well be swearing and it won't post the words! Rolling Eyes

Pat and the team - the market is yours and Stan I'm glad to be of some assistance!
