Stan,
Avoid the temptation to fill up with cheap supermarket Derv in France.
With the extra MPG you will get, splash out on some decent Shell.
The difference in engine noise levels and MPG is chalk & cheese.
I will be in Northern France mid June, including England v Wales match at Lens.

it might be a bit to early for me to be able to judge the differences between normal and premium diesel but i might use the premium on the way back..
