I am thinking of upgrading my front brakes on my o4, going to brembo or overfinch. Would this affect 9nsurance costs. I am a pretty old codger now, 55 ish but i would like a bit better brakes for todays traffic levels. For reference its an autobiography, pretty standard trim afart from chrome side vents. |

You shouldn't need to declare anything as a modification if it was "standard" for your model of car. So, if parking sensors are standard then you don't declare them. Insurance companies will have assessed the "risk" element of the car as it came when it was new. Anything that has been changed since it was new should be declared and, in most cases, if it is sensible LR OEM stuff (we're FF owners so of course it is ) like wheels or tow bars then it should hardly make a difference on your premium. If it does then it's worth arguing about, or changing insurer. 2017 4.4 SDV8 Autobiography 2012 4.4 TDV8 Westminster - Gone, but not forgotten |

I'm with APLan and rang them yesterday after reading this thread.Reported my after factory towbar and they simply made a 'note on file' and confirmed this would not have made any difference to the premium.
