Reverse signal for audio system

I'm new to the forum, and have looked at a few threads about audio systems but none answer my question.

L322 TD6 2004 SE model with low-level audio - all in the dash apart from CD changer in glovebox, with nothing in the boot compartments.
Currently have wireless reverse camera to a separate lcd screen (powered from lighter +12v feed) that works fine.

I have an Erisin ER7053 unit ready to fit, but it has connections for a Reverse signal - to switch the unit into video mode for feed from a camera. Where can I get this from? For my wife's Freelander, I just spliced into wire from reverse switch fitted on the end of the gearbox, but L322 doesn't have that.
It also asks for Brake input, to prevent viewing DVD while moving - that can be disabled but I would like to do it right.

I'm competent with mechanics and electrics, not so good with electronics/CANBUS etc.

Any advice appreciated, thanks.

Regards
Andrew

Thanks.
I had hoped there might be a connector around the gear lever that I could link into, but I can go from the boot under carpets etc to the dash area if that's the best option.

Maybe I'm being dumb here, but you have to feed the signal cable from the camera anyway, so not exactly a hardship.....

When I did mine - I was lucky enough to have tow electrics so just tapped into that.

I already have the wireless camera mounted and sending to LCD display, but now want it to show on the aftermarket head unit I am fitting to replace the 2-line display (that has the usual defective pixels anyway).
If I could find a feed from the reverse light somewhere in the dash area, that would be best. Having looked this afternoon at what is involved to run a single cable from the boot to the dash, hidden properly under carpets, I am now more inclined to put a switch in a +12v feed and switch the unit manually when I reverse.
Parking is OK, it's trying to hitch my trailer that is a pain.

Thanks for the replies, and I will definitely take pictures and post what I do.

Regards
Andrew

Did you look at taking it over the doors rather than under ?

I did some wiring in my old one & recall tucking cable into the door seal trim was quite straight forward.

Be careful going over the top that you don't obstruct the curtain air bags

As Stan says going up the sill is an option but it's hard to get anything other than a very thin wire past the "B" post without it being crushed somewhere... lot's of shots in this thread of what it's like....

I am not sure on the RR, but it is normal to have a reverse feed to the rearview mirror to inhibit the autodip function when reversing (ie clearer picture)

When the instrument pack receives this message*, it outputs a signal to the LCM (C2040) via
the I Bus on a WSY wire. When the LCM (C2039) receives a reverse gear selected signal,
it provides a feed to the following on WY wires:
􀁺 The RH reverse lamp (C0455)
􀁺 The LH reverse lamp (C0472).

*from the ECM via the CANbus, signifying that reverse has been selected

The reverse lights are fed from the LCM which is located behind the side panel in the drivers footwell.
They are fed from a White / Yellow wire 0.75mm˛ running from the LCM to the rear of the car.
No need to go to the back of the car to pick up a reverse feed, just tap into the W/Y wire at the LCM.
I used it for something but unfortunately I can't remember what. Rolling Eyes
