United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Tonga Green
TDV8 stutters

'07 TDV8.

When moving off, the car sometimes appears to 'stutter'. A good stab of throttle corrects it. It idles fine and smooth. It's just that this is making very difficult to move off smoothly with little throttle.

If you let it creep forward on idle and then gently press on the the throttle pedal, the car judders slightly. Boot it and there is no problem - but that's making for neck-snapping starts and poor mgg.

On my previous Rover 75, I would suspect that the MAF was on its way out - any reason to think differently for the RR?

2008 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Stornoway Grey

I have the same car so....

They tend to start off in 2nd gear as a default, if the box then decides this isn't enough or you poke your toe down it goes for first giving a slight jump...it's worrying at first but you get used to it...IF it's that. Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........

New Zealand 2010 Range Rover Autobiography 5.0 SC V8 Galway Green

I have read something about this and if I remember correctly a software update of the Engine Management ECU could resolve it. May be worth checking if yours has the latest software in that (and other) ECUs. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!
