I've got the electric towbar - I went to try it today and the electric socket is jammed up inside the frame behind bumper.

i called the dealer who said it sometimes get shoved up there by the towbar retracting and to give it a nudge - but I gave it a fair tug and nothing at all. its like its welded.

anyone have this issue ?

I'm loathed to force it.

Not heard of that one - mines always behaved itself properly

I had the middle of the electric socket fall out. It seemed the part was not available as the factory install is different to the dealer fit so the dealer could only get parts for the retro fit and replaced half the tow bar. Not had your problem but I have had SWMBO ask what would I do if it stuck up and could not be used.

used a little 'more' force and pulled it down. then after testing it ( fine) I tried to let the towbar push it back up as its meant to and it went into the blockage mode as it couldn't move it either......

its not a fault - its a characteristic of the brand

Issue:

A customer may report that the power/electrical socket for the EDT (electronic deployable towbar) does not deploy when the bar is deployed.

Cause:

Under some conditions the tow power/electrical socket stays in the stowed position

Action:

If the customer reports the power/electrical socket not deploying a service kit is now avaliable, VPLGT0138, which replaces the existing part.

I might be reporting that issue next time mine goes in - preventative maintenance
