The sump plugs should be changed on each service. My worry would be the stripped thread? I would get it to a specialist pretty quick. |

No he didn't have to say anything however he also told me what a massive job it is to change the sump due to having to remove the driveshafts etc. I was more worried about the fact they didn't know it had 2 drain plugs to be honest as I try to keep up with things. The last 2 oil changes have been done incorrectly now as far as I'm concerned. Very annoying! |

Not the same engine but my sump plug thread is on it's way out so I have a helicoil kit and new bolt on standby for the next time I change my oil which would save the sump removal if done carefully. |

Try to find out which part is missing threads. If it is the plug, they can be replaced but if it is the oil pan, then a helicoil should do the trick. Get someone who knows how to do a helicoil properly though !!!! MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
