Have I found my coolant leak??

Found this residue on the engine side of the radiator with even traces on the fan blade too. Is this where my coolant is going? I have been topping up at fairly frequent intervals which are getting closer together, I guess it's new rad time, any recommendations, 2004 4.4V8 ?

Doesn't look the right colour to be coolant... looks more like muddy water from a puddle splashed onto the fan and then the hose...

Best way to find a leak is get a garage to pressure test the system...

May have some funny coloured coolant or some type of rad seal in there though so it may be coolant, whip the filler off and have a look.... Thumbs Up Pete

Oddly I have just found a similar residue around the neck of the header tank filler so I wonder if it has been laced with radweld or similar to fend off a problem. Its at 169,000 miles so I suspect the radiator is failing.

Think I may have found the leak, all wet and orangy down the left hand side of the rad?

New rad from Island 4x4 arrived yesterday, fitted it this morning. No leaks so far, and the fan came undone without a struggle or a special tool!!
