Love this! Brings back memories - was in Coober Pedy a while back. Got a lift in a LR defender with 500,000 miles (and no brakes!!). The Driver (Big Mike) had just done a stretch of 7 years for shooting his partner with a magnum .57 for stealing some of his Opal share.

Don't get me started on the Simpson Desert Jerry. Dalhousie is another great spot. We did that trip in the Perentie 110 wagon.

Oh please stop. I *love* Australia. Spent some time there in 98/99 and should have bloody stayed. Sadly SWMBO won't leave the UK whilst her parents are still alive, which is understandable but still effin irritating. |
