You should have asked before, I would have told you to book a 24/48h layover in Hong Kong to visit or in Singapore or even Dubai

Layover are free of charge if booked ahead and you stay in the airways' 3 star hotels at very competitive prices. I always stay in HK or Singapore for 2 days as it cuts the 22 hours trip to Melbourne/Sydney and give you the opportunity to visit a bit of Asia.

From HK you can even take the train to China (express Visa available un HK for about 30 pounds)

Anyway, once down under: Sydney Opera hours, ideally, book a chopper flight over the harbor, we used these guys : 5/5 Thumbs Up

Make sure they go do not miss Bondi of course, indeed, they should stay in Bondi, by the beach. Then it is just a 20 min bus ride to the city.

DO NOT miss the Hide Park of course and the Royal Botanic Garden. Then the harbor bridge visit is nice along with the Rocks, but they've most likely already have booked this.

Craig, be ready... She is going to ask to move there or at least go study there, I am dead serious...

PS: Said harbor is where my G4 challenge L322 showed off byw Wink

My daughter went for a gap year when she was 19. She's now 27 and still there....................married and with a lovely little girl. We are lucky enough to be able to go over around once per year.

Brilliant city and I agree with the above recommendations. Harbour tour by boat, really nice. Circular quay. Too many nice places for a weeks trip.

Perth (lived there for a good year) is brilliant as well. Freemantle (Little Creatures, great beer and pizza on the waterfront), Cottesloe beach, Rottnest Island, CBD, Swan River, Bellmont Brewery, the Park and my old "hometown" Mandurah Smile. If they get as far down as Busselton, let me know, I can hook them up with some very good friends of mine down there. He runs a "private" museum and she is the best tourguide in that part of Oz and the nicest people in the world Smile.

If she is in to motorbikes, I can also arrange a visit to a private Duc museum Smile. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

Warn her:-

If it moves it will eat you, poison you or tear you to bits.

If it does not move it is lying in wait to ambush you.

Or so I am told. Rolling with laughter
