ECO mode not working on SC

So just driving in my wife new SC and whenever we come to a stop the engine doesn't turn off as I thought it was supposed to in ECO mode.

It's definitely on as if flags when off in the dashboard display so are we doing something wrong?

I've read the manual to see if there is some mode to turn it off permanently but I don't think there is and if there was I guess the orange light shouldn't show next to it.

Thanks

Found this on another site (yes, I'm a slut and being unfaithful):

Things that prevent an automatic engine stop include:
◦An automatic transmission shift paddle has been used to select a gear.
Heated front or rear screen on.
◦The external temperature is less than approximately 0°C (32°F).
◦The external temperature is more than approximately 40°C (104°F).
◦The engine has not reached operating temperature.
◦The driver’s seat belt is not fastened.
◦The climate control system demand requires the engine to be running (for example, in Defrost mode).
◦The battery charge is low.
◦The bonnet is opened.
◦Intelligent stop/start is deactivated.

Interesting thanks, only think I can possibly think therefore is battery low as its been sat around a few weeks.

Everything else is turned off or n/a in that list.

The stop/start will not function unless the brake pedal is firmly pressed at standstill. You can fool the car to not shutdown, or vice verse, by being gentle on the pedal.

There was a software update for the stop/start that cured a bug that might not restart the engine. (you evidently do not have that problem).

It's still under warranty so I'll pop it back to a dealer to have a look.

One other random question, is the lower tailgate powered open and close or just power close.

I think ours is sticking as when you press the button to open the lower tailgate it moves a tiny bit and that is it, bust then I wondered if it's just a gravity/manual open?

It should power open and close. My stop start Eco thingy seems sensitive to whether the air con is switched on or not. If I stop at a junction then sometimes the engine will continue running but if I switch the air con off then the engine will stop. Agueroooooooooo. 93-20
I swear you will never see anything like this ever again....watch it..drink it in.

All sounds low battery voltage related to me. Power boots on most cars are the first to suffer I have found so maybe ask them to check battery health as well while its in, or if it's not getting used enough drop it off with me for a few weeks Wink FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Think you might be right, the ECO system did start working today so I wonder if the car has been sat for a while and hence the battery is low. Anyone have any idea of how quickly a battery gets to full charge if it's low normally?

We drove for around 2.5 hours after picking up the car so if it takes much longer that might explain why the ECO only started working earlier today, equally the battery might be duff. I'll look at charging it, assume I just to it via the jump points?

To be honest hat can work but charging via the trailer socket is the easiest charging method.

It shouldn't take more than 30mins to fully charge a nearly depleted battery but on yours I believe it's an agm type so won't be cheap to replace. FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

As it happens that is the charger I have. I've put it on charge over night. If that doesn't show good improvement I'll use the AGM reconditioning mode.

Fully charged but ECO not working! Think this might be a dealer fix then.
