Fault code reader recommendation advice please

Can anyone recommend a basic fault code reader that will work with an 03 TD6.

I am not looking for anything fancy, just a basic plug and read system (either hand held or laptop usb) for as and when I get any faults.

I have looked around, but I dont want to buy one and find it is not compatiable with the RR.

Thanks in advance guys.

I use one of these (or very similar to):
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CAN-BUS-OBD-2-OBD2-O...5195e012ce

Great for reading/clearing faults, plus has the benefit of real time data logging for further diagnosis. You can also get readouts from all the various engine sensors (temps, pressures voltages etc) You just need a laptop to plug it into!

Mine will read all available OBD info which is limited to the engine ECU so no other systems like EAS, ABS etc.

I run the Digimoto software on it which is fairly comprehensive...

This was from my P38, you get more data from the L322:

Need to drive it this week as i cant get the range rover into most car parks i use in london.. Laughing 2004 black Vogue TD6

Yes a MK5

From looking at ebay there are different types, most are pre 2004 but the ones that do list as working on the mk5 are "VAG K CAN" so i bought one of them.

This one;

Sometimes you've got to change the interface type - in the bottom right of my screenshot where it says ELM323 if it says something different on mine it doesnt work propperly...

I now have the ELM 327 interface, which works fine with the basic software that comes with it but I cant get it to work with Digimoto V4.03.

I have got it on the correct coms port but the baud rate seems wrong (when I look at the rates on the other programmes).

Do you know how to change the baud rate Dan, its greyed out, and I cannot find any way of changing it & I believe this is why I cant get the software to work? Hope I can, it looks a great bit of software! Reformed
