Was the TC changed or refurbed along with the box?

Pretty sure the whole lot was changed. Will have to dig out the invoice. No longer FF owner but still interested. Present car Jaguar XE

Presumably the torque converter was replaced (the symptom) but not the worn valve block (the cause). The replacement torque converter then fails much faster than the original one because it’s operating at reduced pressures right from the start. The re-manufacturer relies on it lasting just long enough to be outside of the warranty period.

What he says is unfortunately very true, I've fallen foul of a gearbox rebuild that didn't involve the valve block and my box is shagged after 22K........

Sadly Phil, I suspected that it may be the case that refurbs are often bodged and made to last only for the warranty. No longer FF owner but still interested. Present car Jaguar XE

I think that you'll find that once the TCC has worn it will take the rest of the gearbox with it |
