Help please. 10My 3.6 headlight lens smashed

just hit a bird and smashed the perspex over the n/s headlight/side light

lights still work

question is can it be driven, lights on, without the cover or will it blow the Xenon?

i am hesitant to use lights being worried about it costing me a new Xenon.

i guess rain on it would kill it too?

Can you get just the perspex cover? i have seen them for pre 10MY ones but not the later facelift ones which is what mine is.

just debating as to whether i need to leave for home earlier today! Help and advice needed please.

i think this is kama for the brake disc change going soo well! Cheers

James

Temporary few layers of clingfilm edges held with duct tape if needed to get you out of trouble today?

is it worth the insurance claim for NCB and having it on the policy as a claim? Cheers

having said that the lights themselves and everything works as it should, just the light surround that i need.

can that be bought seperatly to whole units and is it a diy fit? does anything electronic need to be done to set the lights back up fit it straight in and off you go? Cheers

James

IHHO its probably not worth the claim.

Depends what your excess is for starters - then you will need to declare it for the next 5 years - so it's hard to really predict, but feels like they'd claw back more in premiums than you would get paid out.
