Looks like it could be the alternator, not got the fault messages back yet and not gone into limp mode Yates but has started to say "special programs off"on start up.

Out in the car for a couple of hrs today and BAM all the faults and back into limp mode. This time after turning off and re starting it did the same over and over again. Started for about the 20th time and pulled away in sport mode, drove 10 miles home with no faults.

Dave, can I suggest again that you take a meter under the bonnet to measure the battery voltage after it's been sitting at least 24 hours and preferably over the weekend. No point in doing that tomorrow after the run you've had today.

Yes am still suspicious of the alternator with one caveat. I've found sometimes the battery terminal, although the bolt is fully tightened, the clamp lead does not grip the battery post tightly enough. To test for this get a firm grip of the clamp on the end of both leads and see if they can rotate on the battery posts.

The hidden screen is just a guide not to be confused with an accurate voltmeter. Nor does it in my experience reflect the battery voltage

Dave, the readings were taken from the battery. With metre.

Quick update, Dealer rang to say fault happens every time car is started now so should be easy to find fault. Changed two sensors as they were the cheap option and fault is still there. New high pressure fuel pump fitted and all OK
