Is there more than one type of heated windscreen?

I have a 2007 TDV8 with the heated screen. Due to some damage I have just had the screen changed, now the heating no longer works. On the new screen there is a two pin connector at each end as well as a 1 pin connector. The 2 pins are for the left and right parts of the screen, the single pin ones for the left and right halves. I have spoken to the installer and he insists that the old screen only had the one pin at each end, so the two pin connectors do not plug in anywhere. This makes it sound like the screens have changed at some point and I have the wrong one fitted.

Does anybody know if this is the case, or does anybody have access to the wiring diagram for a 2007 car that they can check the wiring diagram?

Thanks very much for any help.

MC

Yes 02-05my has BMW plugs
05-09my has Ford/Jag plugs
09-12my has a different plug angain

There are also several types of screen for each model year sir so as a guess? There maybe 100 different screens made for the L322 RR through the 10/11yr production...

Thanks, it is making sense now. There are a pair of single pin connectors on each side on the A-pillar which are live when the heater is turned on, so these must be the feeds to the screen. The connection location must have changed as well as the connector type, it looks like an early screen has been fitted. To be fair to him the fitter is being very good, he has been back on to his suppliers and they are sorting out a new screen for early next week.

I had my windscreen replaced this weekend - 1st attempt they brought the wrong screen - it was for the right model and year but had a different clip for the rain sensor - there are loads of different ones, but not as bad as the Volvo ones though.

Its not just the actual physical connections but there are different acoustic values too what I did was get the original code from Landrover and this is what I got so plenty of room for variants

Product Code: 7033AGAGNHMV6T - LANDROVER RANGE ROVER 5J 2002-ON WINDSCREEN-GREEN+ACOUSTIC+GREEN TOP TINT+HEATED+VIN+MOISTURE SENSOR+ROUND BOSS

I think you cannot upgrade to acoustic glass if your original car did not have it originally installed. Tom

According to the Autoglass man all Range Rover screens from Pilkington have acoustic glass on account of the fact that most are diesels which obviously make more engine noise but that may be Censored
I have to say there are no symbols on the screen that show it, like there was on my LR screen, but it's quiet enough so it does me.Very Happy Geoff
