Think kwik fit test alternator for free and round corner from work so worth a pop. Still think if alternator would have starting issues by now??

Had wheels balanced at kwikfit today and thought may aswell have free alternator test and they said all is well with alternator.

Worrying thing is and not sure if happened after KF or over night spell of freezing temps, but now dash lights on perm ( used to be able to turn ign off and system would work) and i have no red led on air susp knob/ height indicator at all! Think systems locked at motorway mode judging from height but no indicator.

Could them jacking it up of done something ??

Mine to is showing up this fault, someone, somewhere must know the answer!

(Just ordered EAS kicker tool (More money) Hopefully that'll work.

But interestingly enough, mine only started with this cold spell.

Have you lost the light (red dot and height indicator) on the switch?

Not seen much written about this. All seems to be about the dash lights ( mine on perm now)

Do be fair, its less annoying than chimes and the irractitness of before!!

Yes, replaced the battery today, and first thing I did (on start up) was steer full, left, right lock...

Still no joy

just came across this again, I had the same errors, got a local indy to run diagnostics and it turned out to be a wheel speed sensor wire causing the issues...£17 later and 1/2 hour labour, it was sorted

so get it somewhere that can read the codes to start with ..... cheers

Cheers. Has 2 new front tyres fitted and seems to off been ok for a week or so!! The tyre had some large chunks out of it and was causing vibrations so wonder whether this effected a wheel sensor?

Touch wood, all's well for now but if it returns i will get it read.

Did they say why you got the 'engine failsafe message' as when researching not many air susp faults seemed to get this message.

the wheel speed sensor affects the HDC (hill descent control) which is linked to air suspension, and ABS...and DSC ...and many more

so its a case of one dodgy sensor setting of a chain reaction of faults on the dash, but actually stored in the ECU was just one error which was the speed sensor wire cheers

I still don't get why it throws up 'engine failsafe mode' as to me this must be related to the actual engine and not the suspension?

maybe yours is something different - I only had the trans prog error engine failsafe mode occasionally, not every time ...but the HDC is linked to the transmission, and on some transmission errors, it triggers failsafe mode

it can just be one thing leading to another, especially with a bit of dampy thrown in

they only way to tell is to read the diagnostics ...maybe reset all errors, go away, and then when the one big error comes back, get it read immediately and it should show what sensor etc is causing it cheers

Guess so. Had it read and nothing apparent at time. Hopefully won't have to worry about it again but something in me says it may be gone for now but that ping and dash lights will show themselves agian soon!!
