United Kingdom 2005 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Giverny Green
Top specs year on year?

Hi all,

Dad is looking to buy an FFRR when he retires soon, after how much he likes mine. He wants a very late 4.4 TDV8 L322, and preferably top spec. I'd told him to look at Westminster models, as I believed that these were a top spec runout model with everything thrown at them.
However, after a chat last night at a land rover club meeting I was told that in fact, the Westminster badge was simply applied to any existing stock to make it look more special and shift it on before the new RR arrived. I'm also told that Vogue was also no longer the top normal specification, and that in fact this changed year on year with the addition and deletion of various trim levels.

Can someone please tell me therefore what the top trim/spec editions were for 2010, 2011 and 2012?

Thanks in advance,

Matt NW060

In the latter ones you basically had

Vogue
Westminster
Vogue se
Autobiography
Vogue is your standard level trim, heated seats with Oxford leather
The westminsters had the perforated seats from the pre facelift vogue se cars
The vogue se had the semi analine leather seats
The AB has anything you want. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Autobiography TDV8 Santorini Black

I too struggled when trying to compare year for year and model for model so played safe and went for a 2012 Autobiography, being top of the range in standard specification. However, they too can have have optional extras so whilst in standard form they have more than the Westminster, for example, the first owner may have specified additional options.

The 2011 & 2012 have the Exterior Design Pack, Hill Start Assist and Gradient Acceleration Control as standard and from late 2011, illuminated sill plates, I believe.

This may give you some insight http://newsroom.jaguarlandrover.com/en-in/...ss_010411/ but essentially, as far as I can see, late 2011 and 2012 AB will be the highest spec.

AB will be the top spec.

WM is like Vogue but with perforated heated/cooled seats, dual view screen (where passenger can watch TV while driver sees satnav or whatever else) bright pedals, deeper pile carpets, 20" wheels rather than 19 (often style 17, but sometimes 11 or others), illuminated tread plates and some external trim in 'noble finish' as far as I can remember. Only Range Rovers since 1988

I'm not sure Westminster's had the cooled seats. I've seen plenty without and just have blanking plates either side of the clock but the brochure I have says they should!.

Final track runs of RR's are often badged westminster ( ithin it statrted with the P38?) just to get rid of the toys left in stock and shift the outgoing model. I suspect most folk ordering a WM new either don't know a 405's coming or they cant afford to wait.

To avoid any form of doubt tell the old fella get an Autobiography - you cant go wrong although the differences between Vogue SE and the Autobiog are limited.

I'm looking at a 2012 MY brochure now and the add ons above the VSE model are listed as

adaptive headlights, exterior design pack, rear seat pack (cooled reclining winged headrests etc), leather headlining, extra two pieces of wood and some auto big badges. Thumbs Up 405 AB exec seats Baltic and Cirrus

The Westminster also comes with the harmon kardon 1200 watt stereo standard, even on the AB this was a option, so if you like your music bear that in mind, also what I noticed was even on the used approved Landrover site was the advertised specs were never correct, mostly higher spec not included in the features and just standard spec mentioned, always worth a phone call if something catches your eye Thumbs Up

The 322 runout WMs (2012) do have cooled seats, the earlier ones pre the last facelift not as standard. I wasn't sure about the stereo, but think Berty is right - it is certainly better than my 2004 Vogue was. Only Range Rovers since 1988

Not strictly correct sir... Ive not long bought an AB Black for a client and had four to choose from for sale in the UK and only two had all the nice bits! Shocked The other two were poorly spec’d! So worth checking the build sheet for the car Thumbs Up

Hi Craig. What would you class as a poorly speced AB?

One without all the options which were standard on the Vogue SE could be such a thing. I had one, a 2010 AB Supercharged. No Rear sear entertainment, no Hill start assist, no surround cameras, no adaptive cruise. A real strange spec to be honest and I only bought it for the colour.

Now, take my 2011 AB Supercharged as a comparison. This is an ex-factory car which has almost everything. Reclining rear seats, two-tone aniline leather, cameras, RSE, HSA, ACC, Prussian blue wood kit, and loads I can't remember. Everything except deployable steps and the roof rails.

Oh and most ABs had the leather headlining kit. Very much worth having IMHO.

As answered above Thumbs Up

They did some funny things with spec’s 2010 11 12...

Missing Vision Assist, Adaptive Cruise, RSE, Rear Seat Package, High Beam Assist to name a few... Rolling Eyes

I started looking at my12 wesminsters because I was told they were the top spec by a saleswomen at Stafford Landrover, on hearing the 1200 watt HD stereo that was a must for me, but I soon questioned why AB, s had adaptive cruise and headlights and a extra two cows in them, and wesminsters didn't ,on seeing the leather headlining on the AB things changed then for me I had to have a AB so looked long and hard through the used approved to find a AB with 1200 watt stereo, and I couldn't find one in 8 weeks of looking, I was then back on a wesminster hunt and by accident while looking at a wesminster stumbled on a AB but again no 1200 watt stereo (supposedly ) even the dealer said it hadn't one, I photographed the Chasis number to get the spec on vindecoderz and on checking it had the 1200 watt + reclining+ cooled rear seats not mentioned by the dealer, so by experience never believe the dealers I'd say checking the specs yourself before purchase may pay off, Thumbs Up

Hi. Is there a noticeable difference between the harmon kardon and HD? I have had an issue with my sub in the boot sounding like the pannels on the car are loose/vibrating. Dealer is changing the unit on Thursday so fingers crossed it improves things.

Mine has the rear entertainment but does not have the reclining seats?

What is vission assist?
