Could this not be a blower resistor issue? Or was it solved by the 2006 MY? I see a mention of a fan noise as if the fan is continuing to run.....

i am sure a more experienced member will come along and set me right. Could even be a combination of poor battery and this problem?

I've been using Yuasa batteries for a number of years now, the oldest being around 6 years old and never had a problem with them. The last one cost me in the region of £67.00 + VAT and the code for the FFRR is 019T

Varta are one of the best

varta and bosch batterys are made by the same company called johnson controls...

the 017 type is only 95 amp hrs and 830 crank, the 020 type is more powerful at 110 amp hrs and 920 crank...

Also, for removal, you will need to set the bonnet in mechanic mode by releasing the struts on each side .
