Well guys. When i first got my Range Rover Vogue, 2006, i was over the moon! Loved it!

I still love the car, looks great, and is perfect.

But i've had a few problems with it:


The sat nav/radio stopped working - I found out i needed to change the fuse, no problem.

The parking sensors beep constantly whilst reversing when i first use the car in a morning.

Sometimes the hazard lights randomly turn on

The radio sometimes doesn't work/randomly turns off, won't turn back on then comes back on randomly.

After using the radio for 15 minutes whilst parked, it used up all the battery. Had it charged by the AA, was fine. Now the battery fails on me around once or twice a week. So i've had to buy a pack that boosts the battery (keep it in my boot)

The screen (sat nav/radio) dims randomly.

The screen sometimes stays on when the car is locked, meaning i have to unlock it, turn off the radio/sat nav and then relock the car

Sometimes the suspension randomly goes up and down, then says there is a fault (on the screen computer where speedometer is)

When heating is used, there is sometimes a noticeable noise coming from the vents (something wrong with inside of engine?)


How could I solve all of these problems?
I really want to keep the Range Rover, just sick of the constant problems I have!!

Have you changed the battery? Low voltage does odd things to vehicle electronics....

Could that fix all problems?

Well, running a car with a known duff battery won't help - worth changing, especially with a hard winter predicted.

I had the battery checked by the AA, travelled a mile and a half, and it charged fully. AA said the battery was fine.

Also been to the local garage for it to be checked and they said that the battery is fully charged, and not losing charge.


I've been told when i change the battery, the car "loses all its electronic/memory etc." or something like that. Is that correct?

Will it have to go to a dealer to be changed or will a local garage do it? Any specific battery?

sorry to hear that you have had all those issues..
disconnecting the battery does indeed reset the ecu's...
weak batterys throw up so many errors on the RR, it needs a fully charged battery to work its many ecu's properly...its going to be a process of elimination i'm afraid and the battery is the first step...

lol Never mind PJS at least you can take some comfort in knowing that you drive one of the most looked at motors on the uk roads.... unlike some ( i will refrain from cayenne bashing) but you know who you are lol

Being a Porsche man I nearly brought a Cayenne!

That said, after looking at them I decided that the Range Rover is still the best! So thats what I traded the 911 up for!!

Think I am going to get a new battery then, as mine has a few minor electrical gremlins.

You will probably lose your radio and clock settings (and things like average MPG, trip, etc).

You don't need a garage to change it, just a spanner or two and 15 minutes - depends on your confidence to do it

Ah I'm not fussed about that stuff.
